First of all, congratulations for taking an HIV test.
Being HIV-positive isn't a death sentence, neither does it determine when someone is going to die. It is a manageable condition that a person can have a normal life with. Many people have lived for decades with it and are still going strong.
What matters is:
1 - Acceptance. This is a key pillar to a healthy and positive living. You need to accept that it has happened and develop a positive mindset of living with it. Acceptance gives you peace and strength .
2 - Starting medication. Though HIV has no cure, there are pills to suppress the virus. This is a daily pill that controls viral reproduction/replication and thus reduces chances of your immunity being compromised.
*NB: It has to be taken regularly and at the same time each day.
Editor's note: Also note that viral supression makes it impossible to transmit the virus sexually.
3 - Balanced diet. This helps boost your immunity as well as keeping you strong.
4 - Exercise. Ensure that you do some regular exercises to keep yourself physically fit.
These few key things are the best for now as we await the cure. I followed the same and here I am;strong, healthy and working on my dreams, it never deterred me from living a positive life.
