Dj Relentless

Originally from Tampa Florida, Toronto's newest import DJ RELENTLESS is a Queer African-American house music DJ/Remixer/radio personality who concluded a historic 12-year residency in 2010 at New York's famed Escuelita nightclub.
Music fans can score the very latest releases in his widely celebrated series of promo only CDs mixed exclusively by DJ RELENTLESS on his blogs for as well on his website ( ). A music subscription service is also available, and don't forget to ask about the historic "Relentlessly Cunty" 5 volume set of cunty beatz and ballroom/runway classics.

My alter-ego:

JADE ELEKTRA is a legendary Queer African-American drag entertainer, nightlife personality, performing/recording artist, film/television/stage actress and outspoken HIV status symbol and role model. She has performed the world over with everyone from Harmonica Sunbeam to Beyonce, from Ill NaNa DiverseCity Dance Company to Calista Flockhart, from MJ White to Bermuda's Sybil Barrington.

Her classic underground c-c-cunty anthems include "Bitch, You Look Fierce", "How Do I Look?", "Why Are You Gaggin'?", "What-Evah", "RIF (Reading Is Fundamental)", "She Turns It", "You Bettah Feel It", "This Is What We Call A Bitch Track" and "Trade".

HIV for 22 years, Miss Elektra premiered her groundbreaking new single "HIVogue" on World AIDS Day December 1st, 2010 with epic remixes by Vjuan Allure, DJ Fierce Tease, and, of course, her less-glamorous twin brother DJ Relentless!

In 2011 crowned Miss Play 2011 and Miss Toronto Continental Elite , Jade's freshly re-issued album Proud Mary: 10th Anniversary Edition (2nd Level Records) features the hit singles "Bitch You Look Fierce", "Why Are You Gaggin'?" and "What-Evah!" plus five bonus tracks including "Don't Explain", "How Do I Look?" and "HIVogue".

Remixes of "HIVogue" by Vjuan Allure, Chip Chop and DJ Fierce Tease go on sale on iTunes as soon as she is able to locate a non-profit organization that is willing to take on the controversial subject matter of AIDS Awareness and sex sites in a track. Be on the look-out for her new single with The Snatsch Sisters called "Realness" in 2012.

Together or separately, DJ RELENTLESS and JADE ELEKTRA are a force to be reckoned with! Please stay tuned to Facebook for their latest club nights, parties, events, music video releases and booking information.

Our DJ Relentless on the new part of town for LGBT Entertainment

Toronto’s Eastside Movement

Spring seems like its coming and so is a change of scenery for the LGBT community.

If you live in Toronto, everyone is familiar with The Gay Village on Church Street and of course the alternative scene on Queen Street West. But have you heard about The Eastside Movement?

I would say it started with a bar called WAYLA about 5 years ago. Great spot. It's actually an auto garage converted into a bar and nightclub. I have spun there on many occasions and even had a few consistent events that ran there over the years. You can always catch DJs like Barry Harris and Dwayne Minard servin' up some great House and Club beats at least once a month. And manager Brian Duval is always cooking up great line ups of guest DJs with fun programing.

So I decided that 2016 would be the year that I would expand my horizons and start creating some new spaces. I set my sights on the east side of town. After performing at The Duke for The B-Girls' Pride Show last year, I kind of fell in love with the space. Big and open with a great patio. I thought this is a place that the LGBT Community would like if they knew about it. It's more of a local neighborhood bar with a dance floor, a great menu from its kitchen and free pool tables with lots of room to walk around or just drink with friends. So, I approached the owner and began talking about MIXOLOGY FRIDAYS.

We have reserved a spot on the dance floor just for you!

This new dance party is open to all. The Duke is very gay-friendly and has been hosting gay events for the past year. Between Gay Family Feud and even Drag Divas Live, The Duke has become the makeshift LGBT center for the area. So, MIXOLOGY FRIDAYS with DJ Relentless (and sometimes guest DJ Pluto) are gearing up for a nice warm up for spring and summer. The party returns on April 8th.

Another popular spot on the east side is JOY (formerly known as Joy Bistro). It's not a bar, but a lovely restaurant with an upscale menu, very popular with the LGBT community for brunch on Sundays. Well, after many years of trying to produce a quality drag revue in Toronto, JOY and myself (Relentless Entertainment) have come together to bring you FAUX GIRLS debuting on April 17th. This bi-weekly dinner and a show event promises the finest in female impersonation with a rotating cast of Amanda Roberts, Anastarzia Anaquway, Farra N. Hyte, Jade Elektra, Jasmine Black, Lady G and special guests. You can expect celebrity impersonations, classic drag and live vocals. I wanted to create a show that you could take your mother to be entertained and have a delicious meal…..and JOY is giving me that opportunity.

You won't want to miss this show!

So if you live on the east side, stop by and enjoy your local events. And if you don't live on the east side but want a change of pace….we got you covered! Come be a part of The Eastside Movement!
